A Perfect Day

1. I had good dreams, happy dreams, all about my future prospects.
2. I woke up at 7:30 and spent time with my boys. 3. At 8:30 I had an Ashtanga Yoga class. The sun was out.
4. Class went well.
5. Got home, showered and met Mom and Bob for brunch with Bob’s mom Anna. Even though it was past the breakfast hour, I still got breakfast tacos. Thank you Waterloo Ice House.
6. I grabbed a book, wore my new bathing suit and headed for Barton Springs.
7. I absorbed the flawless blue sky and 82 degree sun.
8. I felt good, no, I felt great in my bathing suit. It has been years since I felt like strutting in a bathing suit, but I loved the way I felt. Thank you Yoga Yoga for the 15-20 pounds I have lost so far.
9. I stayed out there watching people, napping, reading, lounging and swimming for 2 hours.
10. I checked people out and was checked out in return. I haven’t done that in 5 years, but who is counting.
11. I went home and met Bob and Mom. They loaded my broken scooter into their trailer (I am getting it fixed this week) and they fixed the light in my garage. A wire had come loose.
12. I got dressed up, still feeling good and went to a friend’s Oscar party.
13. Then I met a friend and we played bocce. I kicked his butt, but I promised not to say by how much.
14. I learned to appreciate, again, the art of growing, the ease of complacency and the cataclysmic force of honesty. I got into the mopes a bit, but a friend booted me out with the swift kick of an accurate observation.

Overall, this day was perfect. I love my life.
