I am a goldfish in a bowl I call home, swimming circles side to side, admiring my pebbles, at the time, and my castle sits off to the side, and I share it with you and we have all the time and I think we are lucky, lucky in life, lucky in love, swimming circles, go ahead look in, we don’t mind, nothing to hide, in our bowl, in our life, swimming circles you and I,

Tight circles, small circles, same circles side to side, but I’m with you, I don’t mind, Lucky in life, lucky in love, we just didn’t notice, at the time

Did the bowl change or did we, when did the circles start to confine when did the castle lose its shine?

You know bowls are safe and lakes are scary and I didn’t like losing mine, at the time, didn’t like losing you, didn’t know what to do. Just kept swimming circles, acting fine holding onto the pebbles, swimming from side to side.

But I grew, did you too? No bowl to keep me safe, no bowl to keep me small. Sometimes I think of that bowl, back to when I knew no better in life or love, feeling lucky, but also feeling lost and not knowing why, peeking at places beyond my plastic walls, needing but not seeing at the time, the bowl doesn’t fit anymore, don’t know if you’d tried. I wouldn’t waste your time.
